CYSNetwork News Exchange – 13/01/17

OTN VIDEO CONFERENCE SESSION on February 10, 11-11:30am at Community Living Prince Edward, 67 King Street, Picton.

Community Living Prince Edward is the current host of OTN Video Conferencing and would like to share this resource free of charge with its community partners.

Video conferencing can be used for a variety of meetings, consultations, learning events, as well as to help people, agencies and families connect with external resources. It is also a great way to save on time and travel, or to not miss out on important events due to inclement weather. If you are interested in attending this session, please contact Brenda McIntosh at brenda.mcintosh@clpe.on.ca before February 6.

PRENATAL EDUCATION IN BANCROFT:  It is recommended that parents-to-be attend prenatal education as early in pregnancy as they can, so please share this information with any clients you work with who are expecting. Public Health will be offering free prenatal education presentations at North Hastings Children’s Services on January 31 and February 7, 10AM-noon. The topics that will be covered over those 2 days include parenting tips, labour and birth and breastfeeding information. We recommend to all expecting parents to come to both days if possible. It is a great chance to ask a public health nurse any questions you have regarding pregnancy, labour and birth and newborn care. No registration is required. Everyone is welcome to attend and support persons are also encouraged to attend. Please CLICK HERE for flyer.  Child care is available. If you have any questions please call 613-966-5500 x 675.

ROC OPENING:  You are invited to the official opening of the Youth Centre at 299 Main Street in Picton on January 23, 5-6pm – offering a safe environment that encourages youth success and contributes to a healthier community in Prince Edward County. Those planning to attend the event are kindly asked to RSVP by visiting the Event Page Link HERE.

WATER DOES WONDERS:  Please display the Healthy Kids ads below at your respective agencies/organizations. Feel free to print and post any of the attached posters or to add the digital images to an electronic display message board if you have one. Should you need these files in any other form (e.g., vertical ads, printed copies), please contact Emma Pillsworth who will be more than happy to try and accommodate your request.
