NOVEMBER IS FINANCIAL LITERACY MONTH:  Encourage families to save for their child’s education through RESPs. Government incentives are not being fully utilized by Canadian families. The Canada Learning Bond (CLB) offers up to $2,000 to eligible families – $500 to start. The Canada Education Savings Grant (CESG) is worth up to $500 per year. CLICK HERE for more information.

PERINATAL ANXIETY AND SUPPORTING PARENTAL MENTAL HEALTH Workshop on November 22, 2016 from 12noon-4:30pm at Hastings Prince Edward Public Health in Belleville.

Mental health issues are common concerns for service providers working with prenatal clients and parents of young children. This workshop will help service providers better understand perinatal anxiety and provide information to support parents with mental health issues of all kinds. Perinatal anxiety will be described in detail and participants will have the opportunity to consider how, where and when to refer parents/caregivers living with anxiety in their local community. Strategies to support parents with mental health issues will be discussed and participants will consider how to use Best Start Resource Centre strategies/resources in their own programs.
