Bob Morton GraphicROBERT MORTON, chair of the North Simcoe Muskoka LHIN, spoke on “collaborative governance” and “systems thinking” at the Children’s Mental Health Services AGM on June 29th.  Please CLICK HERE for a copy of his presentation.  His discussion around the weight organizations give to “silo” versus “system was interesting.  He stated that organizations tend to focus time and resources on organizational priorities and work on system issues and priorities off the side of their desks .  He proposed embedding a 51/49 approach to “silo” and “system” focus.  See the end of the presentation for a list of questions organizations may wish to consider when assessing their own place on the collaboration continuum.

 

ONTARIO HAS LAUNCHED three new one-time, project-based programs to engage Ontarians and commemorate the 150th anniversary of Ontario throughout 2017. Organizations serving youth may be interested in the Ontario 150 Partnership Program — a $5 million program to support new partnerships and collaborations that engage, enable and empower youth as the next generation of Ontario leaders (application period opened July 6 and closes September 30, 2016).
