COMMUNITY HUBS IN ONTARIO: Ontario is investing nearly $90 million dollars to expand child care and child and family support programs in schools and create spaces in schools for community use.  See attached news release – English and French – for more information.

 

CHILD CARE & EARLY YEARS ACT AND EDUCATION ACT:  Changes to 2014 Phase 2 Regulations come into effect at varying times starting July 1, 2016.  Phase 2 of proposed regulatory changes focused on 8 key areas:

  • A. Service System Management and Funding
  • B. Licensing Clarity
  • C. Enforcement
  • D. Tiered Licensing – term of a licence
  • E. Licensing Standards
  • F. Licensing Fees
  • G. Before- and after-school programs for children age 6-12 years (BASP 6-12): Extended Day and Third Party Programs
  • H. Miscellaneous Regulations
