CYSN Wordle Final*TIME SENSITIVE INVITATION to attend March 9th consultation in Bancroft. The Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services is in the process of developing a strategy for a safer Ontario to support effective, sustainable, and community based policing. Over the next few weeks, the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services will be conducting consultations on the development of the strategy. Discussions will focus on topics related to improving interactions between police and vulnerable Ontarians, enhancing accountability and oversight of police services, and Community Safety and Well-Being plans.

As the strategy may impact child care staff, families and children receiving care in child care and family support programs, invitations to the consultations are attached –ENGLISH and FRENCH – should you wish to participate.

ADULT SERVICE COLLABORATIVE:  Partners from across various sectors in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties are invited to a conversation about affecting change at a local system-level through collaboration.  At a community conversation set for March 24th, you will hear about the work of the System Improvement through Service Collaboration initiative, sponsored by CAMH, and how you can become involved in the new Hastings and Prince Edward Service Collaborative. FAMILY SUPPORT NETWORK:  NAMI Family to Family is an 11-week program for those who have family members suffering from mental illness. For details about upcoming sessions which begin on March 29th, please CLICK HERE.  The NAMI Service Provider Education Program for Professionals/Service Persons who may come in contact with a person with a mental illness is a series of 5 weekly classes structured to help service providers understand and obtain a broader knowledge of mental illness.  For details about upcoming sessions which begin on March 30th, please CLICK HERE

EAST REGION YOUTH ENGAGEMENT FORUM: On March 22nd, the New Mentality in collaboration with the youth advisors at the Centre of Excellence for Child and Youth and Mental Health, will be hosting a full day youth engagement event in Kingston (location and time TBD).

The purpose of this day is to gain knowledge on youth engagement initiatives in your communities. We’re bringing youth, service providers and youth engagement champions together to learn more about provincial services that will help you develop youth engagement initiatives and help you connect with community members doing similar work.

HASTINGS-PRINCE EDWARD YOUTH SUMMIT:  On March 11th from 10am-4pm, youth 14-24 years of age and youth allies (adults directly supporting youth activities) will be joining together at Maranatha Church in Belleville to learn about youth leadership, involvement and community supports through discussions and speakers.  Please CLICK HERE for details and to register.
