Wear Orange on September 30th

orange shirt day

SEPTEMBER 30th is ORANGE SHIRT DAY, acknowledging the harm experienced by First Nations children in residential schools during the 19th and 20th centuries, and affirming our commitment towards ensuring that “Every Child Matters”.

The loss of family, culture, language, freedom, parenting, self-esteem and worth has had a negative impact on First Nations children and their families over several generations.

It is important to remember so that no one forgets.
