Our local Make Room for Play campaign, supported by members of the Children and Youth Services Network (CYSN), is going well. Halfway through the campaign, Hastings Prince Edward social media stats show that our messages are reaching a lot of people. The high number of “likes” and “shares” indicate that community engagement is high. The Early Childhood Development working group will report on the data after the campaign.
Make Room for Play inspires us to encourage Canadian kids to be as active as possible – to make room for play by turning virtual play into real, active play!
Support and participation are needed from CYSN members and partners as follows:
Continue to post weekly messages on your websites, Facebook pages and Twitter accounts using our Social Media Toolkit.
Or you may find it easier to share or re-tweet social media messages found at http://hpepublichealth.ca/.
Help us gather data by sharing this public survey with your clients – http://fluidsurveys.com/surveys/hpechu/make-room-for-play-public-survey/.
By helping us encourage families of children 0-6 years to decrease screen time and increase play time, it is our hope that this joint effort will have an impact on EDI scores related to physical health and well-being.
