Vital Signs Working Groups Update

Since March 2014, working groups in three priority issue areas – Getting Around, Food Security, and Learning –  which formed part of the Prince Edward County Community Foundation’s 2013 Vital Signs Report, have been meeting to:

  • ♦develop a shared vision;
  • ♦build relationships; and
  • ♦identify and begin work on collaborative projects to contribute to addressing these areas of concern.

All three working groups, which include representatives of some CYSN member organizations, have made considerable progress.  In fact, plans are underway for collaboration between the CYSN Second Helpings Working Group and the Vital Signs Food Working Group in 2015.  I sit on the Vital Signs Learning Working Group which is looking at improving high school completion rates to help youth achieve their full potential.  The Vital Signs Getting Around Working Group is looking at one of the biggest challenges faced by our communities – namely, transportation.
