MINISTRY INVITATION TO BILINGUAL TRAINING DAY:  The Ministry of Children and Youth Services and the Ministry of Community and Social Services are pleased to announce a training day for bilingual staff called “Le Français au travail”.  The objective of this professional development day is to encourage staff to practice their French, increase both oral and written skills in French, and find French resources to better serve the francophone community.  The conference speaker for the day will be Françoise Mathieu who will be speaking on “Compassion Fatigue” in French.  To find out more about Francoise Mathieu, please CLICK HERE.

Throughout the day, participants will have an opportunity to speak French while they network with their colleagues.  As well, two workshops will be offered in the afternoon:  one will be on increasing French written or oral skill and the second workshop will be developing French competencies in your sector of work. In the registration, participants will have the opportunity to choose which workshops that want to attend.  In the morning, a resource fair of French services will be set up to allow participants explore possibilities of francophone resources to use in their workplace.

This event will be held on February 3, 2015 from 9am-3:30 pm at the Portsmouth Habour in Kingston, ON.  There is no cost to this professional development as the funding was provided through the Canada-Ontario Agreement.

This event is aimed at staff that have an intermediate and above level of French.  Employees may attend who are not currently in a bilingual position and who have the French level of intermediate. Registration will be capped to 60 participants; therefore if you want to attend please register as soon as possible.  The registration link is HERE.
