CYSN Coordinating Team Responsible for Developing Effective Processes

The 5-member Coordinating Team is comprised of the two Network co-chairs, Kelly Mathieson (Family Space Quinte) and Theresa Kennedy (Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board), and representatives from CYSN teams, committees and working groups – Maribeth deSnoo (Hastings and Prince Edward Learning Foundation), Susan Seaman (Counselling Services of Belleville & District) and Brandi Hodge (United Way of Quinte).  Meetings are facilitated by the CYSN Coordinator and supported by the Data Analysis Coordinator.

The Coordinating Team is responsible for developing processes to support effective decision-making by the Network.  The team provides general direction to the Coordinator in the organization of Network meetings based on agenda items submitted by teams, committees, working groups and member organizations.

Regular evaluation takes place to ensure that meetings are well-planned, objectives are clear and time is well-spent.  Input from members about what is working and suggestions for improvement are discussed and incorporated into agendas.  Meeting frequency, format and collaborative processes have all been established as a result of surveys and evaluations.

The Team also reviews Network membership in order to identify gaps.  At present, the Team is looking for an Aboriginal member as well as representatives from the two CYSN working groups to sit on the CoordinatingTeam.  A membership drive for all teams, committees and working groups has been slated for September.

Coordinating Team meetings are open to any Network member who wishes to attend, as are the debriefing sessions held after every Network meeting.  Minutes are available on the CYSN website under TEAMS and upcoming meetings are posted in the MEMBER AREA of the CYSN website.

The Coordinating Team is currently working with the Community Indicators and Measures Committee to support the Network in acting upon results from the recent Partnership Self-Assessment in the areas of collaborative process, strengths and weaknesses (leadership, administration, management and resources) and member satisfaction.

Please direct any questions or comments to Wendy Anderson, Coordinator, Children and Youth Services Network.
