Hello CYSN Members and Community Partners,

CHILDREN’S MENTAL HEALTH WEEK is May 4-10.  It’s about increasing awareness of the signs of child and youth mental health problems, decreasing stigma and understanding that help is available and treatment worksPlease CLICK HERE for more information.

EDUCATION WEEK is from May 5-9.  Next week will be celebrated by school boards and schools across the province. It is a time for students, teachers and parents to celebrate teaching excellence and student achievement.  This year’s theme is ‘Achieving Excellence in Education’.

SECOND HELPINGS: The Second Helpings Food Reclamation Project working group now has its’ own email address.  To get involved, please email or call the Development Council of Quinte at 613-968-2466.

SUICIDE PREVENTION:  Anyone over the age of 15 who wants to help prevent suicide – frontline workers, clergy, volunteers, parents, teachers, law enforcement, etc. – should attend the SafeTALK Workshop being presented by Cheryl Dupre, Certified Facilitator, at META Employment Services, 8-161 Bridge Street West, Belleville on June 12, 9am-noon.  Please call 613-966-9069 or email to reserve your seat.  The cost is $50.

YOUTH JUSTICE CONFERENCE:  June 25-26 at Oakham House, Ryerson Student Centre, Toronto.  More than 30 speakers will be presenting across the 2 day agenda.  Register for the conference before the Early Bird Rate expires Friday, May 9 and save $339.
