Come Walk in my Moccasins is a pilot project created by the Aboriginal Family Literacy Circle and sponsored by the Children and Youth Services Network with support from the Ministry of Children and Youth Services (MCYS) Early Childhood Development Aboriginal Planning Fund.
The Aboriginal Family Literacy Circle is comprised of Aboriginal and mainstream agencies and service providers throughout Hastings, Prince Edward, Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington who have been meeting since 2004 for the purposes of developing greater sensitivity to and awareness of Aboriginal culture and people, and supporting learning and literacy within families and communities.
This monthly newsletter is intended for early learning educators, parents and caregivers of children from birth to six years. Each newsletter contains a wealth of information about First Nations, Metis and Inuit culture and programming ideas for young children including stories and video clips, teachings, language, recipes and more.
