EARLY LEARNING DIVISION NEWSLETTER:  Please see English and French versions of the October 2013 play (up) date / (mis) au jeu newsletters attached.

 FULL DAY KINDERGARTEN:  The Early Years Division is pleased to release the final report for the evaluation, entitled “A Meta-Perspective on the Evaluation of Full-Day Kindergarten during the First Two Years of Implementation”.  Please visit the EDU website at http://www.edu.gov.on.ca/kindergarten/theresearchisin.html.

HEALTHY LIVING WORKSHOP REMINDER:  Let’s work together to shape community policy that supports healthy eating and active living.  Workshops are being offered on Monday, November 4th – Bancroft from 10am to noon and Belleville from 2:30-4:30pm.  Please register before October 25th.  See FLYER for more information.  Community partners are also encouraged to contribute to this project by filling out an online stakeholder survey.

HELPING MOTHERS REACH THEIR GOALS:  On Friday, November 15th, 9am-4pm, the Health Unit is hosting a one-day training event for community partners on breastfeeding.  Please see FLYER.  This event, to be held in Belleville, is an opportunity to network and learn more about supporting breastfeeding in our community. A $10 fee, payable at door, includes coffee, snacks and lunch.  To register, please contact Holly McPherson at 613-966-5500 x224 by November 8th.  Babies welcome!

MATHEMATICS THROUGH PLAY:  Family Space Quinte is offering a free, six-week Family Math program for parents and children 4-6 years on Thursday evenings 6-7:30pm from November 7th to December 12th.  Please share FLYER with your families.  To register, call 613-966-9427 x225

NEXT WEEK’S CYSN BLOG will feature the Enhanced 18-month Well-Baby Visit Referral Map which is a tool that supports No Wrong Door service pathways.  The updated Referral Map is intended for and has been sent to all HPE primary health care providers.  However, community organizations will also find this a useful tool for referring parents of young children with developmental concerns to the right program or service.
