This Year’s Community Service Expo to be Bigger and Better!

The Hastings & Prince Edward Children and Youth Services Network, Community Services Network, and Volunteer and Information Quinte are hosting a Community Service Expo on Thursday, November 7th, 2-7pm in the Gymnasium at the Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre, 265 Cannifton Road, Belleville – – to help parents, caregivers, students, service providers and other community members learn about the vast array of programs and services available in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties.

Input gathered last year from visitors and exhibitors helped organizers plan this year’s Expo.  The venue, being funded by United Way Quinte, will be much roomier, and hours of operation will spill over into the evening to accommodate students and working parents.

Organizers, which include representatives from Community Living Prince Edward, the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board, Trenton Miltary Family Resource Centre and Triple P, along with the Children and Youth Services Network and Volunteer and Information Quinte, are in the process of sending out INVITATIONS to not-for-profit organizations that offer services in the areas of basic needs, education, employment, health, justice and legal, prenatal to 12 supports and resources, safety and protection, social and recreation, and transportation and wish to RESERVE A TABLE.

Members from both Networks and community partners are being asked to use the EXPO FLYER to help us get the word out to the community by displaying on bulletin boards, referring clients, sharing at staff/team meetings and posting on websites.

To support the system-wide approach to information and referral that has been endorsed by the 50-member Children and Youth Services Network, exhibitors and their colleagues will receive a “No Wrong Door / Warm Hand-Off” demonstration from 1:30-2pm, before the doors are open to the public.

Refreshments may be purchased by visitors and exhibitors at the on-site Courtyard Cafe.

In lieu of an entry fee, food donations to Gleaners and the Tri-County Food Network will be accepted at the door.

And once you are at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre, consider dropping by reception to pick up a Wellness Passport that will allow you access to the free walking/running track!
