Sharing of Resources and Information between Organizations Made Easy . . .

. . . thanks to the work of the CYSN Resource Sharing Committee, currently comprised of representatives from United Way Quinte, Family Space Quinte, Volunteer and Information Quinte, Hastings County Social Services, Prince Edward – Lennox & Addington Social Services, Community Living Prince Edward, First Adventure Child Development Centre, Quinte West Youth Centre, Abigail’s Learning Centre, Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board, and the QHC Maternal Child Program.

Resource Sharing Committee highlights to date include:

√  The collection of data (e.g., about facility, purchasing and professional service contracts) from 30 organizations for inclusion in the Community Resource and Assets Inventory, found in the member section of the CYSN website

√  Worked with United Way Quinte and Volunteer and Information Quinte (VIQ) to ensure that all CYSN member organizations as well as organizations listed in the “No Wrong Door” Service Referral Guide by Function are posted on the VIQ database, and therefore available to 211 dispatchers.

Next steps for September will include (but are not limited to):

◊  Expand, evaluate and maintain the Resource and Assets Inventory, and work with the Communication Team to promote its use by CYSN member organizations.  To contribute to the inventory, visit http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/CYSN_ResourceSharing_Agencies

◊  Continue to support VIQ in making their community database complete and accurate

◊  Continue to work with United Way Quinte to help promote 211 and www.211ontario.ca

◊  Facilitate opportunities for networking and professional development.
